DuPont Community Credit Union’s Board of Directors has a new Chair, its first in 17 years. At its April meeting, DCCU’s Board of Directors elected officers for the upcoming year. Angela M. Simonetti, who has held the role of Vice Chair since 2021, was elected Chair. She succeeds Everett J. Campbell, Jr. who joined the Board in 2003 and served as Chair since 2006. He will continue his volunteer service to the Credit Union in the role of Vice Chair.
Everett is a native of Nelson County. He graduated from Nelson County High School and served in the Marines for 20 years, including two tours in Vietnam. He has a degree from Southern Illinois University and spent 24 years in leadership positions at Hershey Chocolate in Stuarts Draft, retiring in 2006. He’s been a DCCU member for over 40 years. During his tenure on DCCU’s Board of Directors, he has served on the ALM, Personnel, Governance, and Building Task Force committees.
Angie is the executive vice president at Convenience Distribution Association. She is a native of Augusta County and has been a DCCU member for over 20 years. She graduated from Fort Defiance High School and James Madison University (JMU). While studying at JMU, she worked at DCCU in various roles and branches. This experience led to her desire to volunteer for the credit union. She joined DCCU's Board of Directors as an Associate Director in 2017 and was appointed to the Board as Director in 2018. Angie served as Vice Chair of the Board and as Chair of the Governance Committee.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my service to DCCU in the role of Board Chair,” said Simonetti. “Our board is focused on the evolving needs of our members and committed to the credit union's mission. We look forward to supporting the continued growth of our cooperative.”
“This is a significant moment for our credit union. I am grateful to Everett for his dedicated and steadfast leadership of our Board over the last 17 years. He has been a stalwart in the credit union movement, relentlessly advocating for our members,” said Steve F. Elkins, DCCU President and CEO. “I am also looking forward to working closely with Angie as she transitions into this leadership role. I am excited about her enthusiasm and commitment to the Board and our members.”
